Operations Assistant (Part-Time, Minneapolis, MN)

About the Job

Great Lakes Northern Outfitter is looking for an Operations Assistant to help with general office duties, online order fulfillment, and basic merchandising responsibilities. As a growing e-commerce business, we are looking for employees who take ownership over their role and have the potential to grow with us.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Handle all customer service inquiries (phone, email, social)
  • Light accounting and bookkeeping work
  • Oversee all incoming shipments, count inventory, check-in inventory
  • Facilitate returns and exchanges
  • General office duties


  • Highly organized, responsible, strong attention to detail, self-starter
  • Ability to work independently after training
  • Comfortable learning new software programs, including Shopify, ZenDesk and TradeGecko
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds (light warehouse work)
  • A love of dogs
  • Prior experience in a similar role is desired but not required

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Part-Time
  • Location: Minneapolis, MN
  • Hours: 20-30+ hours a week (ideally Monday-Friday working half-days, or three days a week working full days)
  • Timing: October-December 2019 with opportunity to extend into 2020
  • Report to: Director of Operations
  • Pay: $12/hr + discounted apparel
